FAQ

Ticketing/Seating Options

When do doors open before the show?

The lobby, box office, and concessions counter open 45 minutes before every show.

Do I have to buy a ticket in advance?

While we highly recommend booking in advance, we do sell tickets at the door (if they are still available). The box office opens 45 minutes before show time. Member discounts only apply when tickets are reserved in advance.

If I buy a general admission ticket, will I get a seat?

It depends on the show. Shows with “standing room” tickets are indicated prominently when you purchase tickets online, and tickets for those performances do not include a guaranteed seat. However, even for “standing room” performances, come early and you will likely be able to claim one of our 49 mezzanine seats.

If you have an accessibility requirement for a seat, please email the box office at boxoffice@hvartscouncil.org.

What seating options are available?
HVStage Seating Chart

The majority of our seating for most events is General Admission. General Admission sections include our main floor (closest to the Stage) and a raised mezzanine section towards the back. There are also 26 VIP Banquette seats (assigned seating with tables) surrounding the main floor which can be reserved in advance. At this time, our balcony seating is only offered for select events.

There are no stairs to enter the theater lobby. The back row of the mezzanine section of the performance space is accessible without navigating stairs and contains 4 wheelchair-accessible seats. Please email boxoffice@hvartscouncil.org if you require a seat in this section.

There are 3 wide steps to descend in order to reach the dance floor/standing room section. For standing room performances, there are still seats available in our mezzanine. Please plan to arrive early if you have require seats for the performance. You may email boxofficemanager@hvartscouncil.org with any questions or concerns.

Contact boxoffice@hvartscouncil.org for more information.

Can you explain your ticket pricing?

For most events, we offer General Admission tickets with discounts for seniors, active and retired military, students, and minors. We also offer limited VIP Banquette Seating (26 assigned seats.)

HVArts Council Members receive discounts on General Admission Stage tickets when they reserve in advance of the show. Visit Memberships to purchase your membership. Please note that HVArts Council Member discounts only apply when tickets are reserved in advance - we do not offer Member discounts at the door on the day of the event.

Audience members with General Admission tickets are encouraged to arrive early to select their seats.

Parking

Is there parking at the venue?

Street parking is available on Broad Street and Columbia Avenue. There is no onsite parking lot for Hopewell Valley Stage patrons. There are cut away sections at the corner and at the driveways to the left and right of the theater to help you access the sidewalk. You may drop your party off in the front of the theater before parking. Please give yourself ample time!

Concessions + Dining

Are there restaurants nearby?

The Stage is located in the heart of downtown Hopewell, and there are several delicious restaurants nearby. Check out Downtown Hopewell’s listing of local restaurants for options in the area.

Do you offer concessions? Is the venue BYOB?

We do offer concessions including snacks and a delicious array of beers, wine, and seltzer! Our concessions counter opens 45 minutes before every show, and we’re proud to partner with local businesses – including Needle Creek Farm Brewery, Sourland Bread, and Aunt Chubby’s Lunchonette. Please note that we are not a BYOB establishment. No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Kids Show Age

For what ages is the kids’ show recommended?

We think children aged 4-12 will enjoy the show most. Younger children are welcome to attend as long as their parents are prepared to attend to their needs throughout the performance. Children are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times during the performance.
